Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information helpful-guide.com collects when you use our free image tools and read our articles, why we collect it, how long it is kept, who it may be shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only and not to any third-party site we link to. Last updated 1 April 2026.

  • Standard technical data (IP address, user agent, requested page) is processed to serve and protect the site.
  • Advertising and analytics providers may set their own cookies, described in our Cookie Policy.
  • You can contact us at any time through the contact page.

Who we are

Helpful Guide is operated by Hyper Scale Media LTDA, a Brazilian limited liability company registered under CNPJ 64.683.002/0001-05, with its principal place of business at Rua Edilson Araujo, 180, Sala J — Cara-Cara, Ponta Grossa - Paraná, CEP 84033-105, Brasil. The website helpful-guide.com publishes free browser-based image utilities and written guides. You can read more about the project on our About page, browse everything we publish from the tools directory and the blog, or see the full page list on the sitemap. For any privacy question, write to privacy@helpful-guide.com.

Image files and how the tools work

Compression, resizing, format conversion, cropping, rotation, flipping, colour picking, metadata reading, Base64 encoding and favicon generation all run locally through your browser. Your file is read from disk into page memory, processed by the browser's own canvas and encoder, and written back out as a download. Nothing is transmitted to a server, nothing is stored, and we have no technical ability to see the contents of a file you process. Closing the tab discards everything.

The website image extractor is the one exception, because reading a remote page necessarily requires a network request. When you submit a URL, our server fetches that publicly reachable page and returns the image addresses it references. We do not keep a copy of the fetched page, the extracted list or the URL after the response is sent. Short-lived counters tied to the requesting source are held in memory to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse.

Information you give us voluntarily

If you email us or use the contact form, we receive the message content and your email address. That correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any reasonable follow-up, then deleted. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a support message.

Information collected automatically

Like nearly all websites, our hosting and content delivery infrastructure processes standard request data. This may include your IP address, browser user agent, referring page, the URL requested, response status and a timestamp. It is used to deliver pages, diagnose faults, measure load and detect abusive traffic such as automated scraping of the extractor.

How we use information

We use the limited data described above to serve pages and tool responses, keep the service secure and available, understand aggregate usage so we can improve guides and tools, respond to messages you send us, display advertising that funds free access, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not build individual advertising profiles ourselves.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website itself uses only what is necessary to function and to remember basic preferences, such as the last quality setting you chose in a tool, which is kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. Advertising and analytics providers may set their own cookies or similar identifiers when their scripts load. Categories, durations and opt-out routes are described in full in the Cookie Policy.

Advertising

This site is funded by advertising supplied by third-party networks, including Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Users may opt out of personalised advertising through Google's Ads Settings, and may opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or www.youronlinechoices.eu. Where the law requires it, non-essential cookies are only set after you consent, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.

We do not control which specific advertisements appear, and an advertisement is not an endorsement. See the Disclaimer for more on third-party content.

Analytics

Aggregate analytics may be used to understand which pages are visited, which tools are used and how the site performs. The purpose is to improve content and reliability. Reports are read in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from them.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to operate the site: hosting and content delivery, analytics, and advertising networks. Hosting and analytics providers process data on our behalf under contract. Advertising networks act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. We do not share your data with anyone else except where the law requires it or to protect the rights, safety and availability of the service.

Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, we rely on legitimate interests for security, fault diagnosis, abuse prevention and aggregate measurement; on consent for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising; and on legal obligation where we must retain or disclose data. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time.

Retention

Server request logs are kept only for as long as needed for security and diagnostics, then rotated out. Rate-limiting counters for the extractor are transient and measured in minutes. Email correspondence is kept until your enquiry is resolved. Files you process in a tool are never retained because they never reach us.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. The extractor validates submitted addresses and refuses private, loopback and internal network targets. Access to infrastructure is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but because processing happens in your browser there is very little about you for us to hold in the first place.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Residents of certain jurisdictions also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Requests can be sent to privacy@helpful-guide.com or through the contact page. Because we hold very little identifiable information, we may need extra detail to locate any records relating to you. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Articles and tool pages sometimes link to external websites for reference. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their own policies.

International transfers

Our hosting, analytics and advertising providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, those providers rely on recognised transfer mechanisms, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect the data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top is revised whenever we do, and significant changes are highlighted on this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
