About the image resizer
Resizing changes the number of pixels in an image. Reducing size — called downsampling — averages neighbouring pixels together and generally looks excellent. Increasing size invents pixels through interpolation, so edges become soft and fine texture never returns. When quality matters, always start from the largest original you have.

Supported formats
JPG, PNG and WebP are supported for both input and output. Transparency is preserved when the output is PNG or WebP; exporting to JPG fills transparent areas with white because JPEG has no alpha channel. Frequently Asked Questions
Will resizing distort my image?
Not if you keep 'Lock aspect ratio' enabled. When you choose a preset with a different shape, the image is stretched to fit — crop it first if you need a different shape without distortion.
Can I make an image larger?
You can scale up to 150% or 200%, but no detail is recovered. Enlarging works acceptably for illustrations and logos, and poorly for detailed photographs.
Which format should I export to?
Keep the original format unless you have a reason to change. JPG suits photographs, PNG preserves transparency and sharp text, WebP is usually the smallest for the web.
Does resizing also reduce file size?
Yes, substantially. Halving both width and height removes about 75% of the pixels, which usually cuts the file size by a similar order before any additional compression.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The resize happens on a canvas inside your browser and the result is generated locally.
